Sedona AZ

Tammy and I had the fortunate opportunity to take a trip to Sedona AZ.  I didn’t really know what to expect – yeah there is the red rocks, mountains, etc. just wasn’t sure.  I can say that it is a beautiful place, and we WILL be going back! There is so much to see it is incredible. The hiking is unreal, the country side spectacular.

While we were out there, we learned about Vortexes –  “A place or situation regarded as drawing into its center all that surrounds it.” We cannot say we experienced any of the sensations that make the vortexes famous, I did feel an extreme calmness or comfort, even after hiking and walking up the trails. At each vortex site, there were many people meditating, relaxing and praying.  I said a few prayers while I was there, mainly being thankful for the people in my life, and missing those that have passed.  The overall beauty and majesty is beyond words. The vortexes are sites we will revisit. Will need to bring a gps and get the coordinates for more of them.

The week passed quickly as we tried to accomplish as much as we could. Seems that is how we always spend our vacations.

  • Hiking Bell Rock
  • Church of the Holy Cross
  • Devil’s Bridge
  • Jeep Tour
  • Horseback riding
  • Day trip to Grand Canyon National Park – Southern Rim (glad we went before the government shut down!)
  • Driving around downtown Sedona
  • … and SHOPPING!

Already looking forward to our next visit.

Please enjoy our photo album of the highlights.

Peace,
-Dennis

    Beautiful!
Have you ever done geocaching? (Using the GPS to find little hidden treasures planted by the cache owner?) Pretty cool and a lot of fun while hiking. You can get area coordinates ahead of time and plan to seek out the caches along any route. We sometimes plane them into our cross country road trips in whatever area we are stopping for the night.

      Thanks Kerry.
I have a few friends that are into geocaching. Sounds interesting, just never took the time to take on another hobby. Since I have a handheld gps may start.

      Thanks for stopping by.
