Ride for a cause – Tour de la Vallee
Hello all! I want to let everyone know about a charity ride I am doing on Sunday August 10th. This is a bicycle ride of 100 miles, called a century, to benefit the Edgar J. (Guy) Paradis cancer Fund.
The Edgar J. (Guy) Paradis cancer fund in a non-profit organization that helps cancer patients and their families. From the funds raised, 25% comes from the “Tour de la Valle“. Over the years, over $680,000.00 has been given to support individuals suffering from cancer. One way the funds are used is to help with travel and lodging arrangements for patients and their families when treatment requires them to travel outside the St. John Valley. “The Tour” will have people participating in walks, runs and rides of various lengths. The participants will collect sponsorships to help raise money towards this great cause.
I have chosen to ride the century in memory of all family members who have passed from this terrible disease and to honor those who have fought and won their battle with cancer. I hope that together we can help this great organization.
I would like to ask all of you to please help me in one of two ways:
- A kind word, prayer and good wish that all who participate will be safe and complete the task they embark upon. Whether it be walking, running or biking the courses, and also those who will be volunteering and helping everyone along the way. Post a note or comment on my wall and let me know you are thinking about us!
- Please donate. You can donate towards myself, Jim Pelletier (my triathlon buddy) or any other participant. I know Steve Guimond (cousin and classmate from Wisdom High class of 85) was looking to ride as well. You can donate directly to the fund as well. I will post the address below.
- Share this information with as many people as you can – Please.. 🙂

Please add in the comments the person you are pledging. Please make checks out to: Edgar J. (Guy) Paradis Cancer Fund I will collect the checks and send up by August 25th.
Thanks to all who have already sent words of encouragement and especially to those who have donated. I know it will not be easy to complete the 100 mile ride. I will do my best!
