The next step – recording data

The one that controls the data controls the world.

Something that has taken me a long time to realize – data is important. Well, I kind of always known this, just re-learning to apply it in more areas. When you record data and track the numbers you have a better knowledge of what is happening.

As I am trying to eat healthier, lose weight (fat) I have determined one key item – Everything goes much better when I track what I am eating. ie: recording the data.

Over the past few weeks I am slowly changing my habits. 4 weeks ago I gave up soda. 2 weeks ago I gave up pancakes and waffles as I try to reduce processed food items.

This week is the next evolution – tracking everything. Having done this before I know it takes a little bit of time and it is well worth it! When I keep tabs on everything I know the numbers.

Getting back to measuring and tracking will allow me to see what goes well versus what needs to be changed.

My goal is to be 165 by July 21! This will require a dedicated 2 pounds per week, which is entirely possible.

Now we turn it into a smart goal:

I am so happy and grateful that I weigh 165 pounds by July 21st. I will do this by tracking my food intake, exercising regularly and keep my intake at a deficit of at least 500 calories.

I am using an app called My Fitness Pal. I have found this one to have the best food catalog when looking up items. https://www.myfitnesspal.com

If you are looking for an app to track calories, join up and we can be “friends” on the app and keep each other accountable. My user name on the app is essob.

I have been tracking off and on the past couple of weeks. I am now drawing a line in the sand and saying I will keep with it until I reach my goal.

Keep on keeping on!

Peace and Love,
-Dennis

We can be friends! I haven’t used the app in a week or so but I’ll look you up.
